What is a relocation consultant?
This is a common question; most people haven't heard of a relocation consultant, and don't even realise our services exist. While the term ‘relocation' is often associated with removal services, there is a lot more to moving to a new city or country than simply transporting furniture.

A relocation consultant provides invaluable on-the-ground service and advice that is not easily obtained via the phone or internet. Trying to organise a suitable place to stay, for example, is extremely difficult if you're on the other side of the world. How can you tell from an internet photograph that a seemingly attractive bed and breakfast is not located next to a noisy train station, or is below your standards of cleanliness or service? How do you determine which part of the city will suit your personal style? Do you know how to direct your mail to the new location? What about shopping, schools and transport? A personal consultant with local knowledge can assist with all your questions.

We currently have local consultants in Australia and New Zealand, and cover the following cities:

Do you arrange visas and work permits?

No; for this you will require the services of an immigration agent. We can recommend the services of a qualified professional.

My company is relocating me to a country area. Do your services extend to regional centres?

Yes; some of our consultants also assist in regional areas, such as Melbourne's Latrobe Valley. Contact your local consultant for further information.

Pricing – how much do you charge for services?

Due to the varying cost of living in different locations, our price list will vary between cities. Contact your local consultant for a personal quotation.

The fees we charge are for arrangement only; any monies to be paid for external services will be exchanged between yourself and the service provider. If we source accommodation, for example, you will pay deposits and balances direct to the provider. The only money exchanged between yourself and Downunder Welcome is the agreed arrangement fee.

What if I'm not satisfied with your service?

Downunder Welcome stand by our customer service. Our reputation and your satisfaction determine that we give you the best service at all times. If for some reason you are not 100% satisfied with the service you receive, we will be only too happy to refund you without question.
